Neshaminy achieves AYP

This just in . . . The Neshaminy School District achieved AYP status for the 2009-2010 school year! It will take some time to receive and digest the individual school scores, and I will pass that information along when it becomes available.

Congratulations to everyone involved particularly those teachers and classroom aides who carried through in order to reach AYP.

Yes, congratulations to teachers, aids, principals, administration, etc. Hopefully we will show improvements in our scores.

It is a shame that more readers of this blog could not say something positive about this. I bet if we had not made ayp that this blog would be flooded with angry readers calling for every teacher to be fired.

My opinion about the contract has not changed. The nft needs to make significant give backs because we cannot sustain our budget with the current contract. Just because I feel that way does not mean I cannot say something positive about teachers.

I would like to see parents make an effort to praise teachers when it is deserved. At the same time I would like to see teachers get serious about these negotiations and end the WTC because they are only hurting the children.

Thank you William for keeping us informed of all things Neshaminy, both good and bad.
