Advocacy groups call for $1B in school funding

Education advocates said Wednesday that they will intensify efforts to coax lawmakers and Gov. Ed Rendell to come up with a $1 billion down payment in the 2008-2009 budget for a new funding formula for Pennsylvania public schools.

Where is all that gambling revenue? To hell with Act 1, we were never going to see one dime of that money, were we? Oh wait, I know where the money went to. Can the government please give money to people who aren't retired? If a senior citizen has to move, it's a front page story in the newspaper. But if a middle class family of 4 has to move, then it's just the economy stupid. Maybe if we wouldn't allow seniors to gamble away there social security at the slot machines, then they could pay there taxes.
